The Ritual Bath

Water, Heat, and Herbs

In many cultures, bathing is not just a matter of hygiene; it is a spiritual reset button. From Roman thermae to Japanese onsen, immersion in water is seen as a way to cleanse the energetic body. For the herbalist, the bath is a giant cup of tea—one that you soak in.

How to Prepare a Herbal Bath

Do not throw loose herbs directly into the tub (unless you enjoy cleaning plumbing issues). Instead, use a muslin bag or an old clean sock.

1. The Infusion: Fill the bag with your chosen herbs. Hang it under the spout as the hot water runs, then let it float in the tub. Squeeze it occasionally to release the 'tea'.

2. Epsom Salts: Add 2 cups of Epsom salts (Magnesium sulfate) to relax tense muscles and ground your energy.
